As a nurse, my greatest fulfillment has always come from helping others-it’s what fills my bucket, as my daughters like to say. However, the devastating impact of the COVID-19 outbreak, particularly in the inner-city hospital where I worked, made me realize that it was time to pivot and find new ways to make a difference.

Before the pandemic, I was diagnosed with the BRCA gene (Breast Cancer Gene), and with little ones at home, underwent bilateral mastectomies and ovarian removal surgery. Through this journey, I faced challenges in maintaining confidence and positivity. However, it fueled my determination and passion to support others in feeling their best, serving as a resource for those navigating similar difficult circumstances. I was determined to create a place where I could combine my expertise in healthcare with my passion for empowering others.

In 2022, Kalon Medical Spa became a reality, driven by my perseverance and unwavering commitment to making a positive impact. With two daughters of my own, I wanted to lead by example and show them the importance of pursuing their dreams, even in the face of adversity.

At Kalon, we go beyond traditional spa services by offering educational skincare workshops and lunch-and-learn sessions for individuals of all ages (even in elementary school) in the community. With these initiatives, I have the opportunity to educate individuals about the significance of skincare, preventative measures, and the aging process. My goal is to empower them with the knowledge and tools to embrace self-care practices. Through Kalon, I am not only pursuing my entrepreneurial dreams but also making a positive impact on the lives of others in my community.

Kalon’s commitment to transparency and education extends to our client’s experience within the spa. We prioritize open communication and strive to ensure that our clients understand the treatments they receive, why they are beneficial, and how they can maintain results at home.

As women, we need more spaces where we lift each other, empower one another, and embrace our true selves without reservation. In conclusion, the guiding principles that I instill in my young daughters- strength, fierceness, and unapologetic self-expression are the same principles that I lead by in both my community involvement and my business, Kalon Medical Spa.
